Festivals of Aloha seeks falsetto contestants

Festivals of Aloha is accepting applications for two Hawaiian falsetto singing contests planned for later this year. The 24th annual Richard Ho‘opi‘i Leo Ki‘eki‘e Hawaiian Falsetto Contest for kane will be held Sept. 19 at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua. Makena club to host Maui Food Bank benefit

Mākena Golf & Beach Club will host a benefit dinner for Maui Food Bank’s Da Mobile Market from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at Nāulu Farm in Makena. The event, “Kupu ka niu, kupu ke kanaka,” will support Da Mobile Market, which brings fresh fruits, vegetables and other food to underserved communities, including West Maui, Upcountry and Hana.
