Avis employees donate supplies to Maui Humane Society

Employees at Avis at Kahului Airport recently collected 148 items for Maui Humane Society as part of a donation drive marking the rental car company’s 80th anniversary. The two-week drive nearly doubled the team’s original goal of collecting 80 items. Donations included toys, animal care products and other supplies for shelter animals awaiting adoption. “We have a lot of pet lovers, so it was a big, huge thing for us to support the shelter,” said Antoinette Campbell, a 10-year Avis employee who helped organize the effort. Kamekona campaign plans Voter Jam fundraiser

A community donation drive is collecting nonperishable food items such as rice, pasta, canned goods, instant ramen, instant rice and canned meats, as well as supplies for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui’s after-school programs. Auwahi project seeks volunteers for greenhouse workday

The Auwahi Forest Restoration Project will hold a volunteer greenhouse workday from 9 a.m. to about 2 p.m. Sept. 19 at Ulupalakua Ranch. Volunteers will assist with native plant propagation work.
