Mitsi Umetsu, 95, of Makawao passed away on September 20, 2020 in the comfort of home, with her family and under the loving care of Island Hospice. Mitsi was born on August 05, 1925 to Jiro and Shigeko Kanada in Wailuku, HI. Mitsi was a sales clerk for United Auto Parts in Wailuku for many years. She and her husband enjoyed going to Las Vegas alot. She is predeceased by husband Thomas and her son Eric (Marilyn). It is with great sadness that the Kodama ohana announces the passing of Douglas Kodama at age 94. He retired in 1980 after a career of teaching at Kahului School. but continued to work at family businesses (Standard Furniture, and Miyako Sushi) Douglas was born to Sadami and Koima Kodama in Kahului, Maui, and is survived by his wife Sadako, 4 children (David, Grace, Michael, and Joyce), and 3 grand-children. Lorraine Masako (Agena) Teruya, 90, of Kula, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2020 in Kahului. Lorraine was born in Makawao, Maui on January 6, l930 to the late Kohan and Kameyo Agena. She was the eldest of nine chidren. Lorraine moved to Honolulu a week after graduating from Maui High School. She worked at Lanikai Store and later at Foodland where she met her husband, Roy. In the late 1960's Lorraine operated a store, Vineyard Grocery, in Honolulu while Roy worked at Times Supermarket. She also worked in the cafeteria at J.C. Penney, Pearlridge. It is with great sadness that the Ohana of Rae Ann Yap announces her passing on August 2, 2020. It was Rae’s wishes that her ashes be scattered across Hana Bay. On August 30, 2020, in a small ceremony officiated by Pastor Ka Wolffgramm of House of Hope Fellowship in Hana, of which Rae was a member, her ashes were scattered across Hana Bay in a canoe paddle out.
