Amelia Kurahara, 94, of Kahului, Maui passed away on May 15, 2020 while under the loving care of Islands Hospice Maui. She was born to Katsumi and Kimiyo Katsutani on February 16, 1926 in Wailuku, Maui. She retired from the Department of Education as a Cafeteria Cook at Haiku Elementary School. Lin C. Watanabe, age 58, of Kahului, Maui, Hawaii passed away on May 22, 2020. She worked at Foodland Kihei and was a licensed seafood distributor. Founder of Watanabe Taiko, she was passionate about sharing taiko music and the obon tradition. Lin is survived by her parents, Albert and Amy Watanabe; sister Kay (Ronald) Fukumoto; her companion of 35 years Brian Kasahara; and nephew Mitchell Fukumoto.
