Madelin Oclinaria Bucauto, 88, of Kula, Maui passed away under the care of Hospice Maui on March 26, 2020. She was born on May 26, 1931 in Hana, to the late Ceflerino and Jacinta Oclinaria. She was a retired certified nursing aide at Kula Hospital. She was pre-deceased by her husband Gregorio Bivit Bucauto. She is survived by her sons, Gregory Bucauto and Thomas Bucauto; daughter, Anna Marie McKuhen; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Minoru "Pointer" Takaki, 97, of Kahului, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2020, at Hale Makua Kahului. Minoru was born on November 30, 1922, to Teizo & Mitsuye (Utano) Takaki in Paia, Maui. He grew up in McGerrow Camp in Puunene, attended Lahainaluna as a boarder, and later graduated from Baldwin High School. Minoru served in the U.S. Army as a linguist for the Military Intelligence Service (MIS) in Japan after World War II.
