Manuel Solomon Martelles, 76, of Makawao, passed away on August 5, 2019 at Hospice Maui Hale. He was born on June 14, 1943 in Puunene, Maui. Visitation 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019 at St. Joseph Church, Mass 7 p.m., cremation will follow. Paul Martin (Fingers) was born on November 11, 1938 in Arizona, and passed away at Kula Hospital on August 10, 2019. Paul attended the University of Arizona and enlisted in the Navy, where he was stationed in Okinawa. A “free spirit”, he lived in Haight Ashbury during the days of flower power and the summer of love. Paul came to Maui in 1970 and sold flowers in Lahaina for 34 years. Howard T. Omura, 79, of Lahaina, Maui passed away on June 14, 2019 at Hale Makua Kahului. He was born on July 3, 1939 in Lahaina. Howard was a retired school administrator who served as principal at Hana High & Elementary, Kahului School and Maui High. He is survived by son, Scott Omura, daughter, Michele Sera, grandchildren Lark, Nicholas, Leah, Jacy & Bryce and sister, Joyce Sachi Miyaji. Private services were held.
