Michael Arnold Gunn, 60, of Napili, left this world peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at home.  Born on September 27, 1956 in Pasadena, California to Arnold and Marjorie Gunn, he lived most of his life on Maui, where he came to surf in 1976 and never left. Mike was a charismatic man who loved being around people.  He was a Bellman at the Maui Marriott for 33 years.  In his spare time he enjoyed playing music “with the Boys,” playing in the ocean, spending time with his family, random conversations, and sugar. Rita Cabral Leval, 87 of Wailuku, passed away on December 22, 2016 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on April 17, 1929 in Puunene, Maui. Mrs. Satsue O. Kanechika, “Sachi,” to her family and close friends, of Kahului, died November 29, 2016 in Honolulu. She was born on April 25, 1924 in Wailuku, Maui to Haruyo & Kesajiro Ogawa. Satsue was predeceased by her husband, Kingo Kanechika, who was a veteran of the 442nd RCT, Company M. Shizuka Beppu, 104, of Kahului, passed away under Hospice care at Roselani Place on November 14, 2016. Services honoring Ms. Beppu were held privately by family.
