Protect the sacred: Kapu Aloha Unity March Aug. 10

Mauna A Wakea is the tallest mountain on the Earth, seventh in the solar system, where Wakea, Heavenly Father meets with Papa Hanau Moku, who gave birth to the islands. This meeting place is held sacred in the creation chant of the Kumulipo and to the kanaka maoli, thus sacredness is not negotiable.

Like a mighty wave, the lahui is rising to the mountaintop, steadfast in their commitment, standing as a nation, a living culture, as a people who will not step aside and watch desecration again; they have seen too much.

The people are rising after 126 years of their way of life being stolen and their land and waters controlled and poisoned. So many kia’i are educated in their language and culture. The leaders speak poetry and strategy, conduct protocol while inspiring and educating all who come.

This is the longed for community: functional, abundant, self-reliant, a model of kapu aloha and protocol. Love is flowing through the food lines and traffic controllers, the thousands who have donated and those kia’i living in this community with a clear intention to protect their “temple” the abode of the gods.

UH Board of Regents, David Lassner, TMT consortium, Ige, Kim the whole cast of perpetuators questioning what is sacred have no jurisdiction. No right to tell the Hawaiian people that they are wrong, invalid, not important. Not this time. Not this place. Protect the sacred: Kapu Aloha Unity March Aug. 10, 8:30 a.m. — stadium.
