Leave nonperishables by mailbox Saturday

The 30th annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive commences on Saturday, May 14.

Simply leave nonperishable food donations in or by mailboxes for letter carriers to deliver it to Maui Food Bank.

After a two-year postponement due to the pandemic, over 260,000 letter carriers in over 10,000 cities and towns across the U.S. will be conducting the largest single-day food drive in America.

Much of life paused or changed during the pandemic, but one thing that remained was the need for food across the nation.

This is a major effort to fill our island food banks during the summer months when school breakfast and lunch programs are not available to children in need.

Due to COVID cancellation concerns, no bags will be delivered this year, but Maui postal patrons will receive a food drive announcement card in their mail.

Donate virtually by texting 71777, by writing a check to Maui Food Bank or by visiting mauifoodbank.org.
