Letter carriers food drive is May 13

The National Association of Letter Carriers, in conjunction with the National Rural Letter Carriers Association and the United States Postal Service, will be conducting the 31st annual Letter Carriers Food Drive on Saturday, May 13.

We have not held a full food drive since 2019 due to COVID restrictions, but we are back strong this year.

This is the largest single-day food drive in America, with over 230,000 letter carriers in over 10,000 cities and towns across the nation collecting food donations as we deliver our routes on that second Saturday in May.

The drive is held at this time of year to help fill food banks and pantries during the summer months when school children will not be receiving school lunches.

All Maui residential customers should receive a blue biodegradable bag and an announcement card in their mailbox before food drive day.

All we ask our patrons to do is to leave a nonperishable food donation in or by your mailbox and your letter carrier will collect it and deliver it to Maui Food Bank to help those in need. It is that simple. Please help us ìStamp Out Hungerî in Maui County.
