The Baldwin High School boys volleyball team defeated Maui High 28-26, 25-21, 25-17 Monday night in the 4-5 match of the Maui Interscholastic League Division I tournament at Jon Garcia Gym in Wailuku.

Ehren Acosta dished out 25 assists and Arjay Velasco had 20 digs to lead the fourth-seeded Bears (5-8), who advance to today’s semifinal match against top-seeded Kamehameha Maui (11-1) at Maui High’s Izumi “Shine” Matsui Athletic Center.

The Sabers’ season ends at 2-11.

The Bears and Warriors play in the first semifinal at 5:30 p.m. The second semifinal between second-seeded Lahainaluna (8-4) and third-seeded King Kekaulike (5-7) is scheduled for 7 p.m.
