Freshman pitches no-hitter to leads Bears to crucial win

Baldwin High School freshman Jayden Perry-Waikiki threw a no-hitter in a cruclal 5-0 win over Kamehameha Maui on Saturday.
The Bears finished the Maui Interscholastic League Division I regular season 10-2 after sweeping the Warriors (5-4).
Perry-Waikiki needed just 84 pitches to put away the Warriors — he struck out eight and walked one.
Baldwin can win the regular season and the Wally Yonamine Foundation/HHSAA state tournament berth that goes with it if Maui High (8-1) loses twice to Kamehameha Maui in their three-game series this week.
The Sabers, who swept King Kekaulike last week, need to wins in their series with the Warriors to claim the regular-season crown and No. 1 seed for the MIL D-I tournament that is now set for April 24-27. An overall championship game in D-I would be April 30.
This week’s games are Kamehameha Maui vs. Maui High at 3:30 p.m. and Lahainaluna (0-9) vs. King Kekaulike (1-8) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Wednesday, Na Alii face the Lunas at 3:30 and the Sabers take on the Warriors at 5:30.
Thursday, Kamehameha Maui takes on Maui High at 3:30 and Lahainaluna faces King Kekaulike at 5:30.
