Candidates to meet Wednesday in Haiku

The Haiku Community Association and Paia Town Association will host a candidates’ night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Haiku Community Center. The meeting will introduce new Haiku Community Association Project Manager Maile Davis. It will also feature updates from the 2018 legislative session by state Rep. Lynn DeCoite and Sen. J. HGEA endorses Wagner in 8th House race Democrat Mary Wagner has received the endorsement of the Hawaii Government Employees Association, the state’s largest union, in her bid for the 8th House District seat formerly held by longtime Central Maui Rep. The United Public Workers Union has endorsed Mike Victorino for Maui County mayor, according to a union announcement. “Mike Victorino is familiar with the issues facing Maui County and has the experience necessary to lead the county forward in addressing the tough issues,” said UPW State Director Dayton Nakanelua.
