Hokama seeking re-election to Lanai seat

Maui County Council Member Riki Hokama, chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee, will seek re-election to the council’s Lanai residency seat for a fifth consecutive term, according to an announcement. Hokama served on the council from 1999 to 2009, sat out for a term because of term limits, and returned to the panel in 2011. He was first elected to public office in 1978 as a delegate to the Hawaii State Constitutional Convention.
