Maui County Council Member Alika Atay will be speaking at the Maui Pono Network meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Ahimsa Sanctuary Farm, 4505 Hana Highway. The Maui Pono Network’s mission is to empower community action for the common good, a news release about the meeting said. The group supports a wide array of issues and candidates, including those running under the Ohana Coalition banner, electing representatives who support more accountable and transparent governance, and a professional county manager. The five political parties that have qualified to appear on the ballot are: the Constitution Party, the Democratic Party, the Green Party, the Libertarian Party and the Republican Party.
