Temple plans obon service Paia Mantokuji Soto Mission has canceled its obon festivities July 10 and 11 due to health and safety concerns and current event restrictions and guidelines. A virtual obon service will stream on the temple’s Facebook page at 6 p.m. July 18. St. Theresa Church in Kihei announced its schedule for Mass and reconciliation and confession, which takes effect Saturday, to comply with revised COVID-19 emergency orders. Mass will be held at 5 p.m. Saturdays and at 7, 9 and 11 a.m. Sundays (the latter two times are revised). Reconciliation and confession will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays by appointment.
