Talk story with Rev. Ken Tanaka Makawao Hongwanji Mission invites everyone to join an online lecture and talk story session with the Rev. Temple plans obon service Paia Mantokuji Soto Mission has canceled its obon festivities July 10 and 11 due to health and safety concerns and current event restrictions and guidelines. A virtual obon service will stream on the temple’s Facebook page at 6 p.m. July 18. St. Theresa Church in Kihei announced its schedule for Mass and reconciliation and confession, which takes effect Saturday, to comply with revised COVID-19 emergency orders. Mass will be held at 5 p.m. Saturdays and at 7, 9 and 11 a.m. Sundays (the latter two times are revised). Reconciliation and confession will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays by appointment. Makawao Hongwanji will be holding a virtual baccalaureate service for the sanga’s high school seniors at 9 a.m. Sunday on Facebook Live. The service will be conducted from the Rev.
