St. Theresa church holiday schedule set St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church in Kihei has announced its schedule for Advent and Christmas services. The parish Advent penance service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Minister to teach Buddhism basics The Rev. William Masuda, resident minister of Makawao Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, will conduct an interactive talk and discussion about Shin Buddhism during the 9 a.m. service at the temple on Sunday and Jan. 21. Church celebration set to honor island’s immigrants Christ the King Church in Kahului will celebrate its 85th anniversary on Nov. 26 with a program titled “Feast of Christ The King.” Bishop Larry Silva will officiate the Mass at 10 a.m. followed by a parish luau. Nobuo Haneda, director of the Maida Center of Buddhism in Berkeley, Calif., will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 11 and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at Makawao Hongwanji Mission.
