Animals to be blessed at Keawala‘i church Keawala‘i Congregational Church’s annual “Blessing of the Animals” will be held at the historic Makena church at 10 a.m. Saturday. Churches celebrate the event in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures, according to a news release. Readings, prayers and a blessing will be offered, as well as pictures with Santa. Valley Isle Fellowship will hold “A Night in Bethlehem” from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 3, an interactive event for participants to walk the streets of Bethlehem and discover what it was like in the first century. Church to celebrate Feast of Lili‘uokalani

Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church will celebrate the Feast of Queen Lili‘uokalani at 9 a.m. Sunday in the outdoor sanctuary on the site of David Malo’s historical 1850s church located at 100 Kulanihakoi St. in Kihei. The Vicar of Trinity, Rev. John Hau‘oli Tomoso, will be the celebrant at the Eucharist using ‘Olelo Hawai‘i. The Royal Order of Kamehameha, the Hale O Na Ali‘i and the Ahahui Ka‘ahumanu will be in attendance to offer ho‘okupu. The church’s new portrait of Queen Lili‘uokalani will be presented and blessed. Hebrew roots of Old Testament study set

Transformation School of Ministries is offering a course in Studying the Hebrew Roots of the Old Testament at 6:30 to 9 p.m., Tuesday through Friday at Faith in Jesus church, 432 Waiehu Beach Road, Wailuku.
