UH dashes past Queen’s
The second-ranked University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team swept its sixth match — and first on the road — with a 25-13, 25-17, 25-16 victory over Queen’s University on Thursday in Charlotte, N.C.
King Kekaulike High School graduate Colton Cowell, a junior outside hitter, continued his torrid start for the Rainbow Warriors (6-0). Cowell had eight kills, hit .333, five blocks, two service aces, two digs, and two assists.
Hawaii hit .458 as a team while limiting Queen’s (2-8) to a team percentage of .183.
Filip Humler led UH with 10 kills.
Hawaii plays St. Francis University in Charlotte today and Queen’s again on Saturday before returning home for Feb. 15 and 17 matches against Lincoln Memorial. Big West Conference play begins March 1.
