Allow short-term rentals continue in resort areas

I agree there is a need for housing Lahaina fire victims. New housing should be built to accommodate them. Work with Kaanapali Land Corp and others to deliver housing which is appropriate and decent. KLC has 4,500 acres for housing waiting to be built. The Minatoya list is a convenient target, but it is the wrong target. Iran Close To Making Nuclear Weapons

It appears Iran is close to having enough enriched uranium to produce nuclear weapons. The International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) carries out routine inspections of Iran’s DECLARED atomic facilities. It recently reported Iran has enough uranium for several nuclear weapons, which could be produced in a matter of a few weeks. Iran purchased 300 tons of refined uranium from Niger. Iran has enriched its uranium stockpile to 60%, and it can continue the enrichment process to the weapons grade level of 90%. Understand Maui wild fires by looking at past politics

You have to look into the past to understand the Maui wild fires.   Gov. David Ige was in charge of the state. Alan Arakawa was the mayor during the 2018 fire and Mike Victorino was in charge after that. Did any of them listen to a report that showed there was a problem with West Maui fire danger? Of course not. It wasn’t their idea about who voted for them. Cede beaches to whoever wants to occupy them?

I have been noticing for the last few months that Poolenalena Beach Park has become an overnight camp for whoever wants to roll in and set up, any time of day. The gate is always open, in spite of posted open/close times. I realize we have some serious housing issues here on Maui, but this is essentially making a public park into a semi-permanent home to many folks and camper vans that are rented. This is unfair to the rest of the population that uses the park. I’d love to have free beach front accommodations. Our county officials seem to be selecting areas to cede to ...
