George Frank Chopko, 78 of Lahaina, Maui passed away on April 24, 2017 at his residence under the care of his loving family and Hospice Maui. He was born on October 9, 1938 in Dixon City, Pennsylvania. George retired from Kaanapali Alii Classic Resort as a Chief Engineer. Loraine Green, 84, died April 15, 2017 with her loving husband of 65 years, Tom, at her side. Loraine was born in Covington, Kentucky on December 19, 1932 and accompanied her husband to Hawaii in 1966. Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements. Mabel Aiko Yoshida Matsushita, 89 of Wailuku passed away March 16, 2017 in Kahului. She was born December 11, 1927 in Hilo, Hawaii. She retired from the State of Hawaii, Department of Labor and Industrial Relations as District Administrator. James “Bud” Tharp, 73, passed peacefully away April 21st at his “shack” in Kula, Hawaii surrounded by loved ones. James was born February 27th, 1944 in Corpus Christie, Texas. After graduating high school James headed for Alaska to embrace his adventurous side, an accomplished pilot and hunter, and above all his biggest adventure was taking on five stepchildren as his own.
