George Frank Chopko, 78 of Lahaina, Maui passed away on April 24, 2017 at his residence under the care of his loving family and Hospice Maui. He was born on October 9, 1938 in Dixon City, Pennsylvania. George retired from Kaanapali Alii Classic Resort as a Chief Engineer. Visitations will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Maria Lanakila Catholic Church from 5:30pm to 6:30pm; with mass over urn to begin at 7:00pm. Loraine Green, 84

Loraine Green, 84, died April 15, 2017 with her loving husband of 65 years, Tom, at her side. Loraine was born in Covington, Kentucky on December 19, 1932 and accompanied her husband to Hawaii in 1966. Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements. Loraine retired in 1988 having been office manager for Valley Isle Motors, Wailuku and Haleakala Motors. She is survived by a sister, Carol Ross, living in Arizona. Angeline “Aunty Lani” Leilani Levi, 92, of Lahaina, Maui, passed away on March 31, 2017, at her Lahaina home with family by her side. She was born on October 22, 1924, in Keomoku, Lana’i. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Norman’s Mortuary in Wailuku. Mabel Aiko Yoshida Matsushita, 89 of Wailuku passed away March 16, 2017 in Kahului. She was born December 11, 1927 in Hilo, Hawaii. She retired from the State of Hawaii, Department of Labor and Industrial Relations as District Administrator. Mabel loved to cook and share recipes with all, read books by the tons, be out to activities with friends, travel and watch a musical or two. Her favorite is “The Sound of Music” with Julie Andrews. James “Bud” Tharp, 73, passed peacefully away April 21st at his “shack” in Kula, Hawaii surrounded by loved ones. James was born February 27th, 1944 in Corpus Christie, Texas. After graduating high school James headed for Alaska to embrace his adventurous side, an accomplished pilot and hunter, and above all his biggest adventure was taking on five stepchildren as his own. Seichi Asami, 89 of Lahaina, Maui passed away on April 24, 2017 at his residence with his son Deytyn at his side. Seichi was under the care of Islands Hospice. He was born on July 15, 1927 in Lahaina, Maui. He retired as a Processing Supervisor from Pioneer Mill in 1989.
