Hawaiian slack key live at MACC
FIRST PHOTO: The 30th Annual Ki Ho’alu Festival, featuring some of Hawaii’s best slack key guitar players performing Hawaiian music, was held on Sunday. It was the first time in 15 months that a live and in-person music event — allowing people to openly gather with space between groups instead of in cars — was held at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The free event was sponsored by The Maui News, Maui County and its Office of Economic Development along with additional support from the Ki Ho’alu Foundation, Ka-Hoku Productions and KPOA.
