The Maui News
Maui County is seeking volunteers for more than 40 boards and commissions that weigh in on proposed projects, government salaries, police, water use and other issues.
The deadline to submit applications for terms ending next year is Nov. 30. The county also takes applications year-round to fill vacancies.
Responsibilities include hearing public testimony, reviewing policies and standards and making recommendations, according to a county news release. Positions are appointed by the mayor, confirmed by the Maui County Council and have terms lasting two to five years. The positions are volunteer roles, and no monetary compensation is provided.
