Maui Bicycling League prepares for Year-End Ride with Maui Sunriders

The Maui Bicycling League will host its Year-End Bike Ride on Dec. 14 in partnership with the Maui Sunriders bike shop, which the league credits for showing resilience and commitment to the community after the shop lost its West Maui location in the Lahaina fire.

The ride is being described as an opportunity to come together as a community, supporting each other in healing from the trauma and devastation of the fires. Riders will meet up at 8:45 a.m. and depart at 9 a.m. from Maui Sunriders’ new shop at 800 Office Road in Kapalua.

“We are very pleased and honored to be able to reopen our shop on the west side of Maui in Kapalua,” said Jeff Robertson, CEO of Maui Sunriders, in a statement. “After losing our brand-new flagship shop in Lahaina, it was really tough as we had made so many great connections with the local community in that area. We are beyond thrilled to be able to return to the West Side and help the local community with all of their cycling needs.”

Riders of all levels are invited to join in the 16.5-mile ride from Kapalua to Nakalele Blowhole and back while celebrating of cycling, supporting local businesses and championing healthy, green and multimodal transportation initiatives.
