AARP offers residents help preparing taxes
Volunteers with the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program will be offering free tax preparation assistance for low to moderate income residents at various sites on Maui beginning Feb. 1.
All volunteers are certified in the Tax-Aide program. You do not need to be a member of AARP to participate. Assistance will be offered at by appointment only at
• Kaunoa Senior Center, Spreckelsville: Wednesdays from Feb. 5-April 9 except March 26.
• Kahului Jodo Mission, corner of Laau and Molokai Hema Streets, Kahului: Saturdays from Feb. 1-April 12 except Feb. 8.
• Kenolio Recreational Complex Main Hall, 131 S. Kihei Road: Mondays, Feb. 3, Feb.
17, March 3, March 17, March 31 and April 7.
• Lahaina Civic Center, Main Hall: Mondays, Feb. 10, Feb. 17, March 10, March 17 and April 14.
Appointments may be made by calling Kaunoa Senior Services at 808-270-7308, ext. 3 beginning Jan. 16, 2024. Tax-Aide volunteers do not have IRS or state of Hawaii training regarding casualty losses, so they cannot assist taxpayers with returns claiming or carrying forward these losses.
