The nine Rotary Clubs of Maui are inviting high school students in grades 9 through 11 to apply for a one-day Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Mini RYLA Workshop on May 9.
The workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., beginning at the Kihei Charter School cafeteria, followed by an afternoon environmental community service project at the Mahi Pono Waiopua Garden. Transportation will be provided from designated pickup and return locations in West Maui, Central Maui and Upcountry.
The program is limited to 50 students. Sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Maui, the program is designed to provide leadership training focused on team building, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Morning sessions will be led by former student facilitators who previously participated in RYLA programs and have since graduated from college and returned to Maui.
