Free Medicare seminar set for Oct. 3 in Kahului

A free Medicare 101 Community Seminar will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 3 in the Haleakala Ballroom at the Courtyard by Marriott Maui Kahului Airport, 532 Keolani Place. Maui physicians Marcus Griffin, Samuel Johnsen and Gregory Park will host the seminar. Guest speakers from Preferred Benefits Partners LLC will provide an overview of Medicare, coverage options and common questions that arise when navigating the program. Kahului Post Office to host passport fair

The Kahului Post Office will host a passport fair from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 26, offering additional appointments for new passport and passport card applications. The event at 138 S. Puunene Ave. will include application acceptance, passport photos and assistance from certified U.S. Postal Service passport clerks. Lunch will be from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. A $15 fee will be charged for passport photos. Applicants should schedule an appointment at usps.com/passport and arrive early.
