MFD reminds public about fireworks rules ahead of July 4 holiday
The sale of consumer fireworks for the Fourth of July holiday will begin Monday and continue until 8 p.m. July 4, according to the Maui County Department of Fire and Public Safety. A fireworks permit is not required during designated times for consumer fireworks such as sparklers, snakes and cylindrical or cone fountains, which emit effects no higher than 12 feet off the ground, according to the department.
