How Hawaiian is 1/32 Hawaiian?
I read there is a proposal to define Hawaiians as those who have 1/32 Hawaiian blood.
Studies have shown that many European populations have 1 to 3 percent Neanderthal DNA. That’s very close to the 3.13 percent that equals 1/32.
Genetically, how “Hawaiian” is someone with 1/32 Hawaiian ancestry?
Of course, on these islands, there are many with no Hawaiian ancestry, who act, think and consider themselves Hawaiian.
