Labor shortage impacting Haiku recycling center

It is noted that the recycle center in Haiku has been unable to process cans and bottles for recycling due to a labor shortage. Now this amazing green program tells us we must drive our vehicle burning (gasp) gasoline to Kahului or Makawao to recycle those cans.

The state taxes consumers to fund the recycle program and gives grants to companies to run those programs. That company is not doing what it is supposed to do, claiming a labor shortage. Funny how our taxes are not reduced when government fails to do what it said it was going to do.

If the company the state gives grants to cannot do the job, then state workers should be provided to do that job. Or the state could rescind the tax on beverage containers. Does anyone think that will happen?
