MTS-Nakamura wins Hawaii USA Wrestling Championship

MTS-Nakamura wrestling won the Hawaii USA Wrestling Championship at the Lahaina Civic Center on Saturday.

The meet drew 451 wrestlers representing 19 clubs from Maui, Oahu, Molokai, Kauai, and two wrestlers from Washington. It was the first sporting event held at the Civic Center since the Maui wildfire on August 8.

The Wailuku club scored 1,049.5 points and had 24 champions. Another Wailuku club, 808 Wrestling, was second with 807.5 points and 27 winners. Hana Takedown Club was third with 547 with nine champions, Napili Surfirders was fourth with 444 and eight winners, and while Flow Academy, of Oahu, was fifth with 345 and 12 titlists.
