Ige, Green to speak on COVID-19 panel

Gov. David Ige and Lt. Gov. Josh Green have confirmed that they will speak on a virtual COVID-19 discussion panel convened by Mayor Michael Victorino on Friday. Free test kits to be given out in Wailuku

Maui County and the state Department of Health will distribute free COVID-19 test kits at the War Memorial Stadium parking lot from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, the county announced. Six test kits, with each kit containing one test, will be distributed per vehicle. The self-test kits are antigen home tests, with results available in 15 minutes. The distribution is drive-thru only, and walk-ups will not be allowed. Facial coverings are recovered when approaching distribution tents. 56 patients have COVID at hospital

Five more patients with COVID-19 were admitted to Maui Memorial Medical Center, putting the total number of COVID-positive patients at 56 as of 9 a.m. Friday, a new record. Of the 56 patients, 29 were unvaccinated and 27 were vaccinated, including 10 who received a booster shot, according to Maui Health data.
