Candidate forum planned Upcountry
The Kula Community Association is sponsoring a forum featuring candidates for mayor and the Maui County Council from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Kula Community Center.
The forum will have separate panels for each council race and the mayor’s contest, according to an announcement.
Doors open at 5 p.m. with light refreshments.

Rawlins-Fernandez opens campaign HQ
Maui County Council candidate Keani Rawlins-Fernandez will open her Wailuku campaign headquarters with a pule at 5 p.m. Friday at 21 N. Market St., according to an announcement.
Rawlins-Fernandez is seeking the council’s Molokai residency seat, which is held by Council Member Stacy Crivello.
The candidate’s campaign headquarters is across the street from Wailuku Coffee Co. At its opening night, the headquarters will remain open to the public until 8 p.m.
Rawlins-Fernandez said one of her priorities is to represent everyone and ensure that all voices are included in decision-making. “Having a campaign headquarters presence on Maui demonstrates her commitment to this priority,” she said
