The Friends of Joe Blackburn will be handing out free Maui Hamburger Co. burgers at Valley Isle Lighting, 255 Alamaha St. in Kahului from 11:30 a.m. until they are gone Saturday.The hamburger giveaway will offer voters an opportunity to meet Blackburn, who is running for the Wailuku-Waihee-Waikapu residency County Council seat.

Neil Abercrombie will appear at a campaign fundraising event hosted by South Maui House candidate Deidre Tegarden from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Nalu's South Shore Grill.Tegarden served as chief of protocol for Abercrombie and, later, Gov.
