Event readied for candidate MinichinoSouth Maui House of Representatives candidate Marie Minichino will hold a "talk story" fundraising event from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Rita's Steak and Fish Restaurant in Kihei, according to an announcement.Admission is a $5 donation to the Maui Food Bank. Hawaii Independent Party gubernatorial candidate Muliufi "Mufi" Hannemann will "share his vision and direction for Hawaii" during today's noon meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Maui at Cary & Eddie's Hideaway restaurant in Kahului, according to an announcement.The former Honolulu mayor ran unsuccessfully as a Democrat for governor in 2010, finishing second in the primary race with 90,590 votes, or 37.7 percent, to then Congressman Neil Abercrombie's 142,304, or 59.3 percent.
