House District 13 candidate Walter Ritte will be meeting with voters in Paia, Haiku and East Maui on Saturday and Sunday, according to an announcement. The event will start with sign-waving at Baldwin Beach Park from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by a lunchtime talk story with Aunty Francine “Mopsy” Aarona that will be livestreamed on Facebook. After lunch, a truck rally will be held at Paia Bay at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Ritte will drive through Keanae, Nahiku and Hana town to talk story. A Keiki to the Polls event, where voters bring their children with them to cast their ballot, is set for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Velma McWayne Santos Community Center in Wailuku to coincide with absentee walk-in voting. The event is hosted by the Maui Women’s March and The Mauimama, whose goals are to empower women to vote and to educate the next generation on the importance of voting.
