The remains of a man were located Monday afternoon when officers responded to private property off Pulehu Road, between Hansen Road and Hookele Street, in Kahului, police said.

Police are investigating the cause of death and identification of the man.

An autopsy has been scheduled.

The unattended death call was at 2:12 p.m. Monday.

Preliminary investigation shows the man doesn’t match the descriptions of any recently reported missing people, police said.
