Maui voters to receive signature cards before elections

Maui County voters will soon receive yellow voter signature cards by mail ahead of the 2026 primary and general elections. According to the Maui County Clerk’s Office, the cards will confirm that voters are properly registered and allow residents to update the signature connected to their voter registration records. Election officials are encouraging voters to sign and return the postage-paid cards using blue or black ink to help avoid ballot issues caused by outdated signatures. DLNR seeks input on axis deer with online survey

The state Department of Land and Natural Resources is asking Maui County residents to participate in a survey about how axis deer are affecting life on Maui, Molokai and Lanai. The anonymous 15-question survey seeks feedback on environmental, safety and economic impacts caused by deer populations on Maui Nui. Officials said the information will help guide future deer management efforts and identify regional concerns and priorities. The survey is open through June 30 at tinyurl.com/3tvbtf7h. State officials estimated there were about 26,000 axis deer on Maui Nui in 2025.

Community meeting to offer updates on storm recovery efforts in South Maui

Maui County officials are planning a community meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Malcolm Center to discuss recovery work from the kona low storms.
