King Kekaulike returned to action Sept. 5 at home and defeated Maui High 36-12 in a Maui Interscholastic League football game. The victory improved Kekaulike’s record to 2-1 in MIL contests, while Maui High fell to 1-2. The Baldwin Bears won their third straight Maui Interscholastic League football game, defeating Kamehameha Maui 16-6 on Sept. 4 at Kamehameha Maui. The loss put the Warriors’ record at 2-1 against MIL opponents, while the Bears improved to 3-0. Kihei association plans candidate debate Sept. 15

The Kihei Community Association will host a candidate debate from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at ProArts Playhouse, 1280 South Kihei Road. Taste of Upcountry fundraiser set for Sept. 12

Montessori School of Maui will host its Taste of Upcountry fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 12 at the school’s Makawao campus. Two Maui County educators are among 16 public and charter school teachers named Hawaii’s 2027 Complex Area and Charter School Teachers of the Year.
