Maui County offices to close July 3 for holiday

Maui County offices, facilities and services will be closed or modified July 3 in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. Closures include all Maui County offices and pools, the Lahaina Resource Center at Lahaina Gateway, the Recovery Permit Center at the Maui County Service Center in Kahului, and the Hana, Molokai and Lanai landfills. The Central Maui Landfill and Maui EKO Compost will be open from 6 a.m. to noon, while the Olowalu Recycling & Refuse Convenience Center will be open from 8 a.m. to noon. Hawaii could receive 1 million eggs in price-fixing settlement

Hawaii could receive about 1 million eggs for local food banks as part of a nationwide egg price-fixing settlement involving some of the nation’s largest egg producers, according to state Attorney General Anne Lopez.
