SBA extends disaster loan deadline for March storm recovery

The U.S. Small Business Administration has extended the deadline for homeowners, renters, businesses and private nonprofit organizations affected by Hawaii's March severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides to apply for physical disaster loans. The new deadline to apply for physical damage loans is Aug. 13. The loans are available to those impacted by the disaster that occurred March 10-24 in Hawaii, Maui and Honolulu counties. Nara Organics recalls infant formula over potential contamination

The Hawaii Department of Health is alerting residents to a recall of all lots of Nara Organics Powdered Infant Formula products due to potential contamination with Clostridium botulinum. The products were distributed nationwide, including direct-to-consumer sales from the Nara Organics website, as well as for purchase at Target stores in Hawaii. County facilities to close temporarily for maintenance, testing

The Maui County Department of Parks and Recreation has announced temporary closures at facilities in West Maui and Central Maui later this month. The basketball court at Napili Park will be closed from June 22 through July 3 for resurfacing work. The project includes cleaning the court, sealing cracks, resurfacing and restriping court lines. All other areas of the park will remain open, although visitors may experience intermittent construction noise.
