Closure revised for section of South Kihei Road

Both lanes of South Kihei Road will reopen during nonworking hours following significant progress in repair work. South Kihei Road has been closed from Ohukai Road to Kulanihakoi Street since last week. Man killed in fire at Kapalua condo

A 76-year-old man died in a condominium fire Friday at 100 Ridge Road in Kapalua, according to the Maui Fire Department. The fire was reported at 2:41 p.m., with crews responding to a blaze in a second-story unit. Firefighters extended hoses to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to neighboring units. The man, who was the occupant of the unit, was pronounced dead at the scene.
