Letter: Growing, disgraceful issue affecting Hawaii families

I am writing to bring attention to a growing and disgraceful issue that is affecting families across Hawaii, particularly on Maui. In the midst of a housing crisis, landlords are exploiting state-run assistance programs designed to help people keep their homes. These landlords are taking government funds intended for rent relief and, despite receiving the money, are still evicting tenants under false pretenses. I’ve never written an opinion piece but a recent letter defending President Donald Trump should be addressed. The writer states that the accusations against Trump have never been verified. Trump was accused of rape and found liable for $5 million in 1996. He was also found guilty of defamation in the same court. There are many other examples if one just researches this. He is a convicted felon, on 34 felony counts so far. Accusations? Too many to list, with many of them stalled in court or thrown out with his insistence. Letter: We should stop making stuff up about President Trump?

In a recent Letter to the Editor, a writer declared that there is no evidence that Trump is a convicted felon or a rapist, so stop making stuff up about him. Well, what about this: On June 3 last year, Trump was convicted by a New York jury on 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree, in an effort to hide a $130,00 hush money payment to a porn star over a sexual encounter he did not want to be made public before the 2016 election. Letter: Setting up one of my AK-47s to use surfing

The NRA finally won a well-deserved battle with the U.S. Supreme Court for us gun-rights patriots, who only want to protect ourselves, and maybe shoot something suspicious now and then. If all goes well in the state courts, Hawaii will allow my wife to pack a six shooter in her wild bikini at the beach. This way she can lock and load in case somebody knocks over one of her cans of beer.
