Miyamoto fires ace at Kahili Golf Course

Wailuku resident Milton Miyamoto shot a hole-in-one on the Kahili Golf Course on Sunday, his second career ace in 50 years playing golf.

Miyamoto used a pitching wedge to score the 1 on the 13th hole from 128 yards away.

The shot was witnessed by Dave Oka, Hester Oka and Dean Matsueda.

Maui Prep hosts volleyball camp June 1-4

Maui Preparatory Academy announced that it will hold a girls volleyball camp June 1-4 in conjunction with Gold Medal Squared. The GMS camp is an established reputable program and will consist of high-quality professional coaches. Maui Prep is providing this program at cost to Maui Interscholastic League athletes in an effort to welcome the community to our new gymnasium, The Bozich Center.

The camp is for middle school and high school athletes and will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The cost is $299 and deadline to register is April 1.

Maui Prep seeking boys basketball coach

Maui Preparatory Academy is seeking a head varsity basketball coach for the 2020-21 season.

After a successful first season (second-place finish) and with the opening of The Bozich Center Gymnasium, Na Pueo are committed to growing a strong program in the MIL. Coaches are paid a stipend.

Maloney fires an ace at Maui Nui Golf Club

Patty Maloney of Grays Lake, Ill., hit a hole in one at Maui Nui Golf Club on No. 12 on Tuesday.

She did it from 125 yards with a 5 hybrid club. Bill Maloney witnessed the shot.
