Small business grant program launched for businesses struggling with pandemic

The Maui News A Maui County Small Business Grant Program launched for qualifying restaurants, bars and gyms struggling in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Mayor Michael Victorino announced a partnership with Maui Federal Credit Unions on Friday and said that American Rescue Plan funding is being used to offer grants up to $5,000. This program is not a reimbursement for business expenses. Applications will only be accepted online and will not be available at the credit unions. A form 1099 is required upon application. County to give out free test kits in West, Upcountry, South Maui

Maui County will distribute more COVID-19 rapid self-test kits from Monday through Wednesday at drive-thru sites in West, Upcountry and South Maui. Kits will be given out beginning at 4 p.m. Monday at the Lahaina Aquatic Center, 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Kulamalu Park parking lot (Saturday farmer’s market area) in Pukalani and at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the South Maui Community Park Gym in Kihei.
