Vernon “Vern” H. Peterson, 80
Vern H. Peterson, 80, of Maui passed away on March 29, 2018 in Kula. He was born on January 13, 1938 in Port Townsend, Washington, raised by his aunt and hanai ohana on Oahu, and resided on Oahu and in the Bay Area of California in his youth and early adult life, and on Maui throughout his later life.
Vern had many, a career and social circles through which he networked. He had a short stint playing for the San Francisco 49ers as a young man, was a long-time salesperson for Bev Way in the 70-80’s, sold building materials from his business Any Kine Supply in Kahului in the 80-90’s, and from the 90’s on was a restaurant equipment salesperson.
Vern lived a full life and was a proud father. He was known to enjoy each moment.
Vern is survived by his son, Kupono Peterson-Rivera; step-daughter, Marcael (Curtis) Jamison step-son, Kona Ball; and extended hanai family and friends throughout Hawaii, Palau and the U.S.
Public Celebration of Life and Remembrances from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului.
