A tip of the hat to an editor in a specific regard. As he recently pointed out, information for years has noted much higher “difficulty” rates with full face snorkel masks than others. May future comments be as on point. One has to wonder if the same info applies to many similar types of masks. An ethics complaint, filed against the county auditor by a citizen whistleblower, exposes a persistent pattern of abuse by county attorneys with corporation counsel, at the expense of citizen taxpayers. County attorneys are supposed to protect the county residents, and mitigate liability against the county, right? In theory, yes. In practice, it is entirely the opposite. I recently moved to Las Vegas from Maui. As I established new local relationships, I often hear the kindhearted words, “Welcome to Las Vegas.” Imagine my shock when I conversed during my first visit with a Las Vegas hairstylist. Letter: Hawaiian Air never had fatal accident or hull loss

So, the merger between Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines is now going to happen. As far as I’m concerned this is just rich guys doing Rich Guy stuff. Alaska is the much larger airline, so I’m sure they will be the dominant company. This is what alarms me. In my opinion, the ongoing issues with the Hawaiian call center in the Philippines are minor compared to Alaska’s known history of poor maintenance of their airplanes. Dear Editor, Speaking of deadly school shootings, CBS’s Nora O’Donnell recently said, “Something needs to be done.” Wow, thanks Momma Nora. Now we know that 388 such events since Columbine 25 years ago is just too many.
