A jury deliberated for less than two hours Thursday before convicting Roberto Omar Morales Andrade, 49, of Lahaina on 16 counts of sexual assault involving a child. According to a news release, the verdict followed a two-week trial before Second Circuit Judge Kirsten M. Hamman. Maui County firefighters and Ocean Safety personnel rescued a hiker in Kipahulu and a stand-up paddleboarder off North Kihei over the weekend. On Friday, multiple units responded at 3:33 p.m. after a 62-year-old woman fell while hiking on the Pipiwai Trail in Kipahulu. Rescue 10 firefighters aboard Air 1 located the woman and her hiking party, packaged her for transport and hoisted her into the helicopter.
