Kapalua Golf Academy offering summer programs for juniors players

Kapalua Golf and Kapalua Golf Academy are offering a series of summer programs for junior golfers of all ages and levels of play.

The Kapalua Junior Academy is a five-week program that started at the beginning of the month that focuses on putting, around the green, and full swing fundamentals, as well as education on etiquette, rules and sportsmanship. The PGA Junior League, which is like Little League for golf, is open to children of all skill levels, ages 13 and under. Practice begins Wednesday and will be held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 4 p.m. Matches begin June 5 and continue each Wednesday at 4 p.m. The fee is $275. To join, visit pgajuniorleague.com.

The Kapalua Junior Development Summer Camps are $275 for two days and $500 for four days. Camps, for aspiring players ages 5-17, are available from June 3-Aug. 9, Monday through Friday. The camps give juniors the opportunity to improve fundamental movement skills, teach golf-specific skills and create a love for the game. They also include a round on the Bay Course with one accompanied adult for nine holes after 4 p.m. with rentals included. Kamaaina rates are available.
